So a special thanks to Matt of Canadian Gunnutz for sending me the pics and original printouts showing this rifle to be the top of the line "flagship" Parkerhale called a 1200C Super Clip, very late near the end model

Hi Hunterhenderson,

I've first hand, though fairly limited knowledge of Parker Hale rifles. My very first centre fire rifle, purchased new, in the early 80's,was a Parker Hale, "1200 C Super Clip", in .308. From memory, it looked almost identical to yours. PH were a British firearms manufacturer, founded in 1910, known for producing high quality rifles & shooting accessories. They ceased manufacturing firearms in about 1982. I believe most of their rifles used surplus Spanish military Mauser actions.  Mine was certainly a military action, as it had the cut out on the left side of the action, for use with stripper clips. I cant see that action cut out in the pictures of yours, so I'm guessing it may be a later model, using a commercial Mauser action ?. I believe rifles bearing the Parker Hale name, were briefly made in the USA, I've never seen one. though I gather they bore little resemblance, to the original UK rifles.  PH, were  popular hunting rifles, & along with BSA, were I think, the only mass produced, UK made, & affordable, [for us peasants that is] rifles.
I cant really vouch for their accuracy, as I didn't hunt with mine at the time, & only used it on the range with army surplus Radway Green ball ammo [£10 a 100]. Not the most accurate of ammo, but you could shoot all day for ten quid ! . A late friend of mine, had the PH "Safari", model in .3006, & that would shoot a little over one moa with hand loads.
They produced one rifle, in collaboration with Rigby, called I think, The "Parker Hale .275 Rigby" [7 X 57 Mauser]. That looked like a Rigby design, but had a Parker Hale barrel. Not sure if these were exported or not, so if anyone comes across a Rigby for sale, check the top of the barrel, if it has Parker Hale stamped on it, its probably not a true Rigby. That's not to say it wont be a good rifle though.
As I said, I'm no real expert on PH, & there's no doubt there a people out there far more knowledgeable on the subject them me, & plenty of in depth PH history available if you "Google" it.

I've contacted the two fellows that know a lot about PHs. I expect them to show up before too long. They are branxhunter (and Australian), and jaeger88 (an Englishman). You can contact them directly through the messaging center.

I'm almost as curious as you about this rifle!

Quote from: gitano on October 27, 2025, 08:23:07 AMHello and welcome, HunterHenderson.

That's an outstanding purchase! I wish I could be of more assistance with the questions you asked, but I "know a guy" here at THL that kind of specializes in Parker Hales. I'll send him your way.

Again, welcome to THL, and I hope we can help you out with this.

Hello.

Just getting started here.  24 Navy Corpsman.  Mausers are my passion since I got to hold my grandpa's.  I've picked up a few here and there and I am trying to teach myself a few things on some Spanish 93's that are in need of love.  I found you guys because of that amazing trove of information that was posted about Mauser actions and it has been steering me ever since.

Thanks,

Tim
