Pennsylvania newbie here.  Anxiously awaiting the rifle opener in six days.  I hunt most of the local game and got a nice turkey this past spring.  First gobbler ever and had a 9 1/2" beard with 1.25" spurs.  Didn't weigh him though.  As soon as I figure out this forum stuff I will post a picture.

Here is a pic of my turkey and myself.  I will eventually get a handle on this internet stuff.  He wouldn't fit into my wife's 18 quart roaster unless we laid him on his side.  He came in silently from behind me with a jake and a couple of other birds which I didn't see until after I shot.  The whole story is kinda long but pretty funny so drop me a line if you would like a chuckle.

I would like to suggest that this thread be locked. Newcomers see this thread title and use it to introduce themselves. In doing so, they become 'buried' in with all the other recent new members. I like to see the threads each new member starts. First, it distinguishes them and their 'intro story'. Second, later, if I go looking for "who they are", I can find them. Furthermore, what this thread has become is not why Sakorick started it.

It's not the 'end of the world', but I just ignore notices regarding new post to this thread. In fact, I am going to unsubscrtibe to it.

Hello.

Just getting started here.  24 Navy Corpsman.  Mausers are my passion since I got to hold my grandpa's.  I've picked up a few here and there and I am trying to teach myself a few things on some Spanish 93's that are in need of love.  I found you guys because of that amazing trove of information that was posted about Mauser actions and it has been steering me ever since.

Thanks,

Tim
