Yesterday I was trying a new recipe for a buttermilk/pecan pie.
I chose to use a graham cracker crust, not a good move , it started to come apart, I tried to pour the mix back in the bowl, the crust slipped out of the pan and into the mix, this served one purpose, it made me forgetting the corn starch moot.
I remixed the mess, with the crust in it, poured it into another crust and got it in the oven.
Had more mix than would go in the pan so I filled 2 pyrex custard cups with the leftover mix and put that in with the pie.
Thought I could feed it to the squirrels and coons if we could not eat it.
Sorry varmits, came out one of the best things I have made, not really sweet,a good mix of flavors and a nice texture.
Talk about stepping in it and coming out smelling like roses!

That's always the challenge ain't it?
I've tried to replicate more than one "successful mistake" with mixed results.
