THE CHRISTIAN LIFE / Triumphant Living
January 02, 2009, 04:43:28 PM
A SECRET OF TRIUMPHANT LIVING THAT WILL WORK FOR YOU
God disappeared from sight in Jesus' body that He might appear again, in power, in the bodies of all true believers.
From the dawn of redemption God's purpose was to come live inside you. He first created man in His own image. He made him capable of love and fellowship with Himself. He placed him in a paradise, the Garden of Eden. And God occupied His time walking with man in that garden. But then the wicked mistrust and rebellion of man, called sin, severed the relationship. A holy God could not compromise His fellowship with unholy man. Man and God were separated.
But God does not give up. Jesus went to the cross and died for sin. Through His atonement, unholy man can be made clean. The fellowship that was broken in Eden is restored at Calvary. God and man are reunited. Christ comes to live in our hearts. This is the mystery of the entire universe. And this is the purpose of man, to know God and to be united with God.

Jesus Christ came to earth to bring man a wonderful new dimension of living. He said, I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

This new abundant dimension comes through having Jesus Christ live inside you. Jesus said in John 14:15, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter ... whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you ... At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you ... . If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:16, 18, 20, 23).

Jesus said He would not leave us, He would come to us, and He would be in us. This is the amazing mystery of the life of Jesus Christ. It did not end at a grave and it was not contained within one body. By His spirit He has come to live in all that will receive Him.

Before the day of Pentecost one body had contained Jesus Christ. After the day of Pentecost all bodies can contain Jesus Christ. God disappeared from sight in Jesus' body that He might appear again throughout the world in the bodies of thousands of true believers.

In the last book of the Bible, Jesus Christ wrote letters to the seven churches in Asia. When He wrote the last letter to the last church, He closed it with a promise of living inside our bodies. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelations 3:20). Jesus wanted to make it so clear no one could possibly miss it. He said we are like a house: someone knocks; you open the door. They come in. And that's the way it is with life. Jesus knocks on the door of our heart. We open. And God comes in to live within us.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE / Tho't Verse Message
December 12, 2008, 11:39:19 AM
It matters not who or what you are, all men can behold the Christmas Star.  For the Star that shone is shining still in the hearts of men of peace and goodwill.

Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy Spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit.  Psalm 51:11, 12 kjv.

For all to see there was a star Shining in the east, beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. And by the light of that same star Three wise men came from country far; To seek for a King was their intent, And to follow the star wherever it went.  This star drew nigh to the northwest: O're Bethlehem it took its rest; And there it did both stop and stay, Right over the place where Jesus lay.
The Star shines for one and all!"

Precisely!!!! I would rather pull the trigger every year than wait for the "buck of a lifetime". in fact, I would trade these big bodied bucks for many more small ones and be able to shoot more than one a year. God Bless.------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, david, you can't eat horns, but to each his own. :)

THE CAMPFIRE / Re: Bear Killed By Combine
December 09, 2008, 03:00:36 PM
I wouldn't want to meet him in a cyprus swamp..  i'e seen a lot o black bears but none near that big..

The American Black Bear usually ranges in length from 150 to 180 cm (5 to 6 feet) and typically stands about 76 to 91 cm (2.5 to 3 feet) at the shoulder.[3] Standing up on its hind feet, a Black Bear can be up to 7 feet tall (2.12 m).[4] Males are 33% larger than females.[5] Females weigh between 40 and 180 kg (90 and 400 pounds); males weigh between 115 and 275 kg (250 and 600 pounds) [1]. Adult black bears can reach 300 kg (660 pounds) [2], but exceptionally large males have been recorded from the wild at up to 240 cm (95 inches) long and at least 365 kg (800 pounds). The biggest American Black Bear ever recorded was a male from North Carolina that weighed 881 lbs (400 kilograms).[6] At the other extreme, very small adult bears can weigh as little as 39 kg (85 lbs) in females and 47 kg (103 lbs) in males.[7] Cubs usually weigh 200 to 450 g (between 7 ounces and 1 pound) at birth. The adult has small eyes, rounded ears, a long snout, a large body, and a short tail. It has an excellent sense of smell. Though they generally have shaggy black hair, the coat can vary in color from white through chocolate-brown, cinnamon-brown, and blonde (found mostly west of the Mississippi River), to black in the east (the same is generally true in Canada, the border being between Manitoba and Ontario). They occasionally have a slight V-shaped white chest blaze. The tail is 4.8 inches (12.12 cm) long.[5]

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE / Jesus is the Reason
December 07, 2008, 10:59:08 AM
Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.
Santa's little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
It's obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2008
And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year.
God bless you all

WHITETAIL / Re: Secrets & Tips
October 30, 2008, 01:59:21 AM
i have found that the best time to hunt during rainy season is just before it rains and rightafter it quits and in a slight drizzle...when it is windy i sit by the fire at camp..i go to my strand after daylight and stay till about 10:00 and and go back abot 3:00 till dark an i don't use that stinkin scent..you can either spray your clothes with no scent or put what you are going to wear in a bag with pine twigs overnight.. not bragging but i have killed dozens of deer, probably 200 more or less in my lifetime so you don't need all that fancy high priced stuff they sell you..you need to realize i am 79 years old and have been hunting since i was 8..
