I am a crystal glass engraver who takes commissions for any subject whatsoever for example -portraits, animals, dog portraits, houses, family crests etc. I specialise in engraving portraits of hunters with their trophy animals working from the customers photo's. My work has been presented to US President, The British Royal Family, The Amir of Kuwait, The Sultan of Oman, The Sultan of Brunei and many other well known people throughout the World. I have exhibited my work in Japan, USA, Germany, Italy and Hong Kong. I read F.C.Selous book "A Hunters Wanderings in Africa " when I was a boy of 10 years old as my grandfather had a copy of the book , I have been hooked on Selous and Africa ever since although it took me 50 years to make it to Africa to hunt , I would have fitted in well in the Selous era (late 19th early 20th century) being a recycled Victorian that is out of place in the 21st century. I have hunted twice now in Africa but only plains game.
I have learned alot about this great man and have become something of an anorack on the subject, I have even discovered his Great nephew Commander Gerald Selous who lives in Norwich ,England who tells me he has the mounted head of the last Kudu F C S shot above his desk in his study. As I am a glass engraving artist I just had to engrave a piece with Selous on .One day I would like to hunt in the Selous Game Reserved, Tanzania, named after him and make a pilgrimage to his grave there, where he fell fatally wounded in a battle with the Germans in the first World War 1917.

I have just finished engraving this piece of optical crystal, which is mainly deeply engraved into the back of the piece but with some work on the front to give a 3D effect. All of the engraving is freehand engraved using a dentist drill. I have had the idea for this engraving in my head for some time, and at last it is done, The piece is for sale as all my work is . The size is 9 inches x 6 inches and is finest quality optical crystal.
 

 
 
 
 

I am new to the forum and thought I would show you some photo's of my engraving work. I hand engrave crystal glass using a dental drill all of the work being freehand engraved. This piece is mainly engraved into the back of the piece very deeply especially the bull elephant as that is the closest to you ,quite sculptural engraving ,there is also some work on the front of the piece (egrets and grasses etc) to give a 3D effect , I engrave any subject but specialise in wildlife scenes especially African wildlife.
 
 

Hello I'm new to here .I am a professional glass engraving artist/ hunter. I mainly hunt deer (in England /Scotland we say deer stalker) species I hunt are Red deer, Fallow, Sika, Roe, Muntjac, Chinese water deer, I also do some bird shooting , also hunted plains game in Africa on 2 occasions.
I have been a professional crystal glass engraver for 28 years engraving any subject freehand using a dental drill, specialising in wildlife scenes but also taking commissions for whatever the customer requires eg -Portrait of a hunter with his trophy animal like the one shown.
