HUNTING WITH DOGS / Re: Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog

Hi English.   Where did you get Chappy?  Is she  registered NALC full blooded Catahoula or part?  The reason I ask is I am from Louisiana where the breed originated and  bred the breed for a number of years.  She is built quite different from the dogs in La.  I will see if I can learn how to post pics and post one of our Louisiana Catahoula Lepoard Dogs.

We havent seen many squirrels since Katrina blew through here.  Guess they got blown north of here.  Usually have them tricking me into thinking a BIG DEER is coming my way but last year did not see or hear a single one on the forest floor scratching for acorns....it was almost spooky!

Great non-typical.  Don't happen to know the club name where he was killed do you?  We have a trucking company and are up in the Monroe, Shreveport, Coushatta La area alot.  My husband has seen some big ones in his travels out that way!

Remember, every hunt is a successful hunt even if you don't bring home the game to show for it because you have spent time with family out in the wonders of God's creation.     Welcome to the board!  What part of Louisiana are you from?

WHITETAIL / Re: Whitetails in N. Mississippi

Well, hello neighbor.  I have  a group who hunt a 2700 acre spred out your way.   It is called Oxbow and Dave Downey is the landowner.  My brother and I volunteer with  Ms. Woods, Wheels and Water Outdoors.  They take handicapped and terminally ill hunters out there to hunt.  It is just 9 miles South of Vicksburg.  I had a chance to go out there with my brother a few weeks ago to scout around and put out a camera.  Found more than we were looking for too!   A LARGE bear had marked up to trees.
We estimate his size to be about 6 and 1/2 foot!   Think I will be  hunting there on the full moon only so I can hunt after daylight! haha
