Imagine yourself a Union Naval Officer approaching an area of strategic
Confederate significance just ahead...A bluff, overlooking the waters of the
Mississippi River...Barge loaded with Union supplies, perhaps troops...BH51

HeathWright Pocket meanders south and to an oxbow bend as a smaller
tributary drains from the east, a creek...Once refered to a Coal Creek
because of areas of coal deposit located in various locations within the
creek, now refered to as Cold Creek by generations of misinterpretation...

I doubt that the Civilian population then was concerned much by today's
interpretation of the Civil War's Historic significance as a war to free the
slaves...Mostly poor folk trying to save what little they had and protecting
their families from an invasion force was foremost in my personal opinion.
Today, there are groups who detest the Civil War, the Confederacy and
the brave soldiers that fought in it...They wish to change the names of
parks, remove statues, and flags commemorates of it...Save our History..
Today the Civil War..tomorrow the Ole West..maybe the Alamo..Vietnam
and in a few generations, perhaps Iraq.................Shame......................BH51....
