THE FISHING LURE / Northern Fishing Part 1
January 26, 2008, 03:44:27 PM
This was in 2006 when my brother from Cocoa, FL came up end of March for two weeks. Here we had gone out for Cod fishing in the  Quarsiuvik inlet outside of Inukjuak. The ice gets from 4-6ft thick depending on how much snow is on top. I drilled the first hole with my boy and as soon as my brother Michel dropped his line instant bite. Bingo. Only one problem after 20 minutes we had to stop cause he and my boy had already caught 33 Cod and we still had to filet all of them. Which I showed them how and let them do it. During our outing I only did two holes and took pictures. When he got back home and showed these shots to his co-workers and friends, they simply said it wasn't fishing but harvesting. :greentongue: :)
I'm still laughing

THE CHUCKWAGON / Fish & Berries
January 25, 2008, 07:56:49 AM
You all have to try this.
Boil a good tasting fish, then debone it. Put it in a bowl mixed 50% with either black or blue berries. Best with black berries though, but still good with the blue ones. and add a bit of salt to the mix. Yummy. Can't wait to get some more. :greentongue:

With maybe Salmon, Arctic Char, Speakled trout or similar.

Keep following this thread. I've got a few photos on page 2.

FIREARMS & OPTICS / My New Rig
January 24, 2008, 02:36:53 PM
Just thought I'd share my excitement. Got my new Tikka T3 stainless, with camo stock in .223 just before snow came. Had my gunsmith fill the stock with foam and pillar bed it. After breaking in the barrell with Gun Juice I went and zeroed it at 500 yrds. Using my Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40 with side paralax and mildot reticle. So now I can holdover-under. So far my best groups not under good conditions was 1.5" at 400 yrds. Can't wait to try it out in better conditions. This was using federal American Eagle 55gr. Not bad for factory ammo.

Hi all
Just joined and am anxious to get to know this new site. I'm from Northern Quebec on the eastern Hudson Bay coast 58.5th parallel "Inukjuak" Have been here since 1990. In the summer it's light out till midnight and dark in the winter at 3:00 pm. No trees only tundra. We hunt here for caribou, fox, hair, ptarmigan, seal, whale, polar bear, duck, geese, etc... and lots of fishing for cod, arctic char, samon, white fish, speckled trout, lake trout...
I'm an outdoors maniac
Love long range precision shooting, Extreme off-road Jeeping, atving, snowmobiling, canoeing, mountain biking, photography, expeditions, dog teaming, well anything I can do.
