Out with Silent B̶o̶b̶ Steve

Was asked to do a bit of bunny clearance so went out with Steve last night to assess the 'airfield' which was 'crawling with rabbits'...

We went to the cabin first to down a coffee and check zero, the local Hares n rabbits were willing to play. Steve's first shot was on a 200yd bunny with the Mannlicher 222, marvellous - bit too grizzly to post here! Next up a couple of obliging hares lopping towards us, one fell to the shot (biggun in the pic) at 100 ish yards and t'other was never found. It is always disappointing not to find the shot game. Doggo did find the strike spot which left some 'pink' blood and she did follow the trail for a while - we walked the field but no joy.

Over on airfield the only thing 'crawling' was grass, nary a glint of eye in the lamp so we decided to take a trip over to the other side of the farm, John the farm hand had not been out with the topper so it was impossible to see anything over at the spinney. A drive around the combined fields showerd us a couple rabbits, a couple muntjac and a puddy cat.

Back to 'airfield' this time we drove in with the truck, a leveret (second Hare in pic) obliged. Bunny offered itself at the bottom of the range.
