THE FISHING LURE / WooHoo!! Our fall run is starting!!
September 08, 2005, 01:27:07 PM
Well....after a looong and dry summer our fall salmon run is starting to pick up! While it is not hot fishing yet we did manage to get 2 fish for 3 trips out in the coastal tidewater's here in Oregon.

My Dad caught his first fall salmon yesturday (23 lber) and I got to put first blood in the new drift boat this past week, not huge fish but they were bright!

I will try to post some pics as soon as I get the film back. Hope your all having a great fishing season!

Take care,

Well here in Oregon its been the worst Springer season in the past 50 years (or so they tell us) It's been tough this year, the Spring run is coming to an end but it does not feel like it ever got started!

I hope the fall run will be better but I am not going to hold my breath, The steelhead season has been pretty slow as well but a bit better than the Salmon run. I was curious to hear how you folks up north did this spring and if the fall outlook is good?

Take care All,

CLASSIFIEDS / Leupold vari-x III***SOLD***
January 06, 2005, 10:23:33 AM
*****************SOLD********************* getting some cash together to buy a fishing boat so I am selling a Leupold vari-x III 4-14x40 , this was on a Remington Sendero but I sold the gun and could use the cash more than the scope, it is the matte finish model with fine crosshairs and is in exlnt. condition.

I still have the box, this has been sitting in my gun case and I never re-mounted it and I need a boat more these days! (or so I tell myself) no scratches and you can barely see any ring marks.

Thanks!:D

THE FISHING LURE / One of my fall trips pics
November 29, 2004, 07:33:55 PM
Well, our fall salmon run is pretty much over for most of the rivers I fish here in Oregon but it was'nt a bad season, my last three trips out I brought home fish so it was a lot of fun.

This is a pic from one of my trips to one of our coastal rivers, about 8 miles above tidewater, a 17 lb hen and a 24 lb buck. The day was awsome we tagged out by 8:30 am and my buddy and I were headed home! I did'nt get any pics from the last trip but was pretty close to the same thing. These were caught using bobber and egg.

Take care,

MULEDEER/BLACKTAIL / My little sisters first deer!
November 29, 2004, 07:19:22 PM
Hello All,

I was a very proud big brother this fall!  My little sister took a nice buck recently on a juvy tag here in Oregon, the tag allowed her to take any deer but she wanted to hold out for a decent buck and who could blame her the bucks were in the rut and very active.

It took her about a week of hunting and we finally got her a shot at this Blacktail, not bad for a fisrt deer! She took him with one shot at 75 yards with her Ruger 308. She hit him in the lower neck right in front of the shoulder. She said she was aiming behind his shoulder but I dont blame her for having a little buck fever the first time!

Take care,

MULEDEER/BLACKTAIL / My 04 Blacktail story and pic
November 29, 2004, 07:02:59 PM
Hello All,

:) Well, it took some time but finally have my pictures from this fall's season.

This was a buck I took on October 23rd, It was a pretty cold day and fairly wet, I spotted him feeding at over 400 yards. It was about 10:30 am, I stalked withen 248 yards and he was feeding away from me and only about 6 feet from being swallowed up by the thick brush he was feeding towards, he was not going to turn for a better shot so I put the crosshairs between his shoulder blades then carefully let off a shot (he was feeding headed up on a very steep hill so the shot looked to be like a good one if I did my part) I took him with one shot from my Browning 300 Win.  I used a 180 Scirocco load and it performed well, he did'nt take another step. It took my Dad and I almost 4 and a half hours to pack him off the hill but it was worth it in the end!

MULEDEER/BLACKTAIL / Another 4x4 Blacktail!
October 25, 2004, 06:56:25 PM
Hello All,

Well I just eneded my 2004 deer season this past Saturday, I took a 4 point buck at 11:00 am and then got to spend the rest of the day packing him out! I am still a little soar from that pack job but was well worth it!

When I get the photo's back I will post some picks, he was a little better than the one I took last year (if you can remember what that one looked like) I will add the story to the picks as well, hopefully I can get them developed by the end of this week.
