Browning model 92 - exactly like the Winchester, except for the gold trigger.

My little boys are now 6 footers + and are 14 & 16. Their favorite firearms are an FAL an M1 carbine and the Mossberg 500's. (Riot gear of course) And they want to adopt ALL of my pistols.
Mom always said "I hope you have a kid that turns out to be just like you!"

I run semi's in the oilfield in Utah's Uintah Basin, Piceance Creek Colorado, and from Casper to Vernal or Grand Junction to Vernal. I'd love to bring my boys and am sure they'd enjoy a tour.
Actually, since the liberals took over the country, the oilfield has all but died... so I've been running the pilot car for the other trucks.

I know it's not politically correct, (gag excuse me!) but I started all my kids shooting before they hit 5. They all love to shoot and are constantly picking on me to take them. They all have their own Contender Frame and have picked their favorite caliber to shoot (45-70 & 223) and would rather have them made up as carbines than pistols. imho that's the way to start them.
I pray your children turn out as wonderful as mine.

I've got an old 25-20 that has seen everything from mule deer and beaver on down through several other little fuzzy wuzzys and sage grouse for dinner. I use Win.680 for power and the Remington 86gr slugs and have had one shot kills on everything including the deer. The ammo is smaller than the 223 and the 86gr slug @ 1895 packs about 675 ftlbs at the muzzle. I haven't needed much more than that.
I might see what LilGun will do in a 357 B92... that might change my mind about the caliber, but not much else.

As I recall... I was bowling and down to the last ball after 11 in a row (!) My cousin was behind me and spoke as I threw the ball. I remember thinking he was wrong and took my mind off what I was doing and rolled a 296 (!?!) which sucked.
Now it was me on the lane, me with the ball, me with the pins, and I could have stopped to re-evaluate my actions any time before rolling the ball. It doesn't matter what my cousin said, or anything else... it was all me. God, the devil incarnate, Brunswick or Columbia had nothing to do with my lack of good judgement. I was the one who didn't get the 300 ring.

RELOADING / 30/223 or 222 or ?
January 21, 2009, 08:42:32 PM
I know about the apache cartridge and the 30-223-1 1/2 and the whisper... I was just wondering if there were any other cartridges that I was missing out on (?) Also, would anyone have recommendations for a little more modern powders in these mugs.:Banghead:

I've noticed that 110 was a mainstay a few years back and 335 has made some inroads, 296 seems limited and 680 is gone... has anyone tried lil-gun or have any leads on its use therein?

Any input would be appreciated.

I have noticed, that the higher I climb, the more I see, the more I see, the more I come to realise that I really know and comprehend very little about just this world... let alone the world beyond.
Line upon line, precept upon precept....

WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND? / Re: 545 People to Blame...
June 01, 2008, 06:08:50 PM
According to the Constitution, We the People can get anything we want passed without going throught the 545, all we need is a referendum vote passed with a 2/3 majority to say... limit retiring congressmen and women to a retirement based on our own social security benefits. Write up a petition, get it signed in ink and counted and see what can be accomplished int he next little while.

Anytime my computer gets an alert for a download that I have not invited in, I do the ctrl/alt/del (all three at once) bit and get task manager to shut it down immediately. Or sometimes I can right click on the icon at the bottom of my screen and use the X to close the darn thing.

Oh, by the way... I'm back!

I kind of fell off the world there for a while, I'm back.
I'm hoping to get back into these forums again, it's a great learning experience and a temporary escape from the unpleasantries of the world of money.
hello again!
