I have been gone and missed the deadline, so if I can hunt Colorado this year will look at 3rd season OTC bull tag.

THE CAMPFIRE / Blessed Easter from the Byrd Ranch
March 27, 2010, 04:54:18 PM
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and many of you may have Easter programs that you will be attending during the next week. I take this time to reflect on all that has been done on my behalf by my Lord Jesus. I cannot go by this cross in my pasture without singing "The Old Rugged Cross".

1.   On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
   the emblem of suffering and shame;
   and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
   for a world of lost sinners was slain.
Refrain:
   So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
   till my trophies at last I lay down;
   I will cling to the old rugged cross,
   and exchange it some day for a crown.

2.   O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
   has a wondrous attraction for me;
   for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above
   to bear it to dark Calvary.
   (Refrain)

3.   In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
   a wondrous beauty I see,
   for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
   to pardon and sanctify me.
   (Refrain)

4.   To that old rugged cross I will ever be true,
   its shame and reproach gladly bear;
   then he'll call me some day to my home far away,
   where his glory forever I'll share.
   (Refrain)

I wish you and yours a Blessed Easter.

Guys,

Thanks for the reports. Greg, I was just thinking of maintaining accuracy longer after multiple shots with the heavy barrel.

I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24 x 40mm mil dot scope coming

FIREARMS & OPTICS / Tikka T3 Lite?
March 15, 2010, 11:00:07 AM
I have a Tikka T3 Lite, .223, synthetic, blued barrel, new in the box. I planned to use it for my coyote rifle, but I am having second thoughts about whether I should trade it for a heavy barrel.

I am getting ready to put a scope on the rifle, but now having second thoughts. Anyone shoot the T3 Lite?

Thanks,

Congratulations Rick!

Good looking family. I added another grandson on the 1st in KCMO. Grandkids are such a blessing from Heaven.

VARMINT/PREDATOR / Re: I Am Confused
January 17, 2010, 07:35:55 PM
Most of the coyotes in the area are in very good condition, but I do see one with mange occasionally.

The dog is what really puzzles me. I have no neighbors, so it is not a neighbor's dog and it has been decades since I have seen any stray dogs on my place. I am wondering if the dog is the same animal that I saw two years ago leading a pack of coyotes hunting in the pasture. The lead animal was darker and more blocky than the coyotes following. I do have an image taken with a point and shoot camera. The animal was about 750 yards away in the picture. I didn't have my binoculars with me for a good look.

Calves starting to drop, so I will be keeping a close watch.

I changed memory sticks out today on my trail cam, hoping some big bucks would have shared a pose.

There is this one of a coyote and a poor one at that.

Now this one is a puzzle-

WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND? / Re: Just thinkin'
January 11, 2010, 05:33:05 AM
My mother is 94 and has maclear degeneration, so I do some of her business. A change in medicines and no coverage from her drug plan caused me to call the drug plan for clarification. I have hearing problems and I get a gal that speaks English poorly and when asked her location it is overseas. :Banghead: I really get chapped with the customer service call centers overseas, especially since they cannot seem to find people fluent in English.

I guess I shouldn't say, "Sight unseen.", because I did have pictures, but I hadn't laid my hands on it till I picked it up from the FFL.
