Let it go buddy.    You can`t fix stupid.  Life is too short to think we all need to fix all `wrongs`.  Low blood pressure is a very admirable thing to maintain.  The world is full of loonies . The less contact you have with them the longer you will live.  8-)

peace and happiness,  JaDub

RELOADING / Re: Curry Bullets
February 10, 2019, 09:18:48 AM
Thanks, Paul.   I suspected that they were good bullets. The auctioned estate I bought them from contained nothing but top-end reloading supplies.  Hopefully some one will take these off my hands.

  BTW,    I have two boxes ( 100 ct ea. ) of .270 cal ,  .277" dia , 130gr spitzer soft point  $20ea

RELOADING / Curry Bullets
February 09, 2019, 02:12:52 PM
I have two boxes of .270cal.  .227 dia 130 gr Spitzer `soft point ` bullets of  100 ea.  The name on the outside of the box is Curry Bullets by Curry bullet Co. ... Los Angeles, Ca.

They came in a large box of ammo that  I bought at auction.  I`m looking for information about these but am coming up short.  Anyone know of them  ??  Any help would be appreciated.  I`d take $15 / box if  interested.

Great stuff ! I always enjoy  hearing and learning about our pasts.  Sad thing is once these elders of ours die so do their stories about the past.  I always encourage young people to quiz their elders and keep alive the past.  The stories they tell can be fascinating.

My roots came across the Atlantic in 1840 and eventually settled in west central Minnesota. They braved constant  blizzards.   My great great grandparents dug an earthen  cave  in the side of an embankment for the first two years of their first place.  Chickens lived under the bed in the winter time.  The nearby hillside revealed many exposed bones and artifacts from  a local indian burial site.  They subsisted on trapping beaver in the Pomm De Tere  river drainage area which was directly down the bluff from their embankment.  Home schooling was the only education available .  Constant indian raids were the norm .   Not until the 1880s did the indian issue settle down.  Due to the Civil War draining all of the promised supplies to the Indians in exchange for allowing settlers to inhabit these areas, the Indians carried on brutal attacks on the settlers.    A series of books covering this period of time was written  recently . The first in a five book series is entitled "The Abercrombie Trail " followed by " Blooming Praries ".  The author was a female local resident.  I could not put the books down..... absolutely fascinating read.

Thanks Rick,
I`m guessing it`s a `72 or `73 vintage ??    Interesting ………  always fun to find out more about what I`ve picked up.  A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.   Now I`m going to start working up loads for it.  Right now I`m finding that my Winchester mod 70, 7mm RM likes  55grains of 4350 with  Hornady 165 SSTs .  I`ll start there and see how things go.

And a big thanks to  Hunterbug  for forwarding the pix.  Someday maybe I`ll remember his data path. 8-)
