I like Sauer rifles. A lot. They are certainly high-quality firearms. When I recently saw one for sale for $1700 in 8x57 I thought I'd stop by the Sauer website and have a look at them. This is what I saw: http://www.sauer-101.com/nav-1/s-101/s-101-classic-xt/ THIS is a "classic": http://www.sauer-101.com/nav-1/s-101/s-101-classic/

Please 'splain to me how any rifle with a black plastic stock can legitimately be called a "classic". It's a rhetorical comment. I fully understand that marketers have no moral standards regarding the truth.

If "plastic" is so "good", why do marketers refuse to use the word? Why don't they just SAY "Our new rifle has a PLASTIC stock"? Again, it's a rhetorical question. The reason is; NO ONE equates "quality" or "classic" or "beauty" with PLASTIC.

I have no argument with those of you out there that like plastic stocks. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. I don't think any of 'you' would call a plastic-stocked rifle "classic". (Spare me the excuses of classic "lines". They didn't say "classic lines", they said CLASSIC.) My PROBLEM is with the MARKETING. What I should say is: My PROBLEM is with blatant, bald-faced, DECEIT. I pervades every aspect of our everyday lives.
