John nailed a big boy

John called and asked to borrow my Black Powder rifle for the alternate methods season which opened on the 24th. I said of course so he came over to shoot it and get up to speed with loading, safety etc. They weren't doing any good ice fishing yesterday so John grabbed the rifle and headed out to the blind to "shoot a fat doe".  Well, the does went by at a pretty fast clip and then the 8 point stepped out. John passed on him and was getting ready to pack up when the big guy stepped out....whistle, buck stopped, BOOM. We scored him this morning at 156 1/2. He has a double right main beam and is a genuine trophy. Rifle is a Knight with a 2 pellet load of Pyrodex pushing a 250 grain 50 cal BT, Burris 3-9.
