Here is a listing of manufacturer's new MODERN bows for this year.

While I find the prices SHOCKING, there are some interesting ones. I like the "friendliness" of this one:

It shares a number of APA’s unique features such as the Fang Riser, making it easy to hang the bow on any tree limb, as well as the carrying handle built into the riser of all APA’s bows. Also built into the riser of APA’s bows is a very handy multi-function tool that includes a nock tool, a broadhead wrench, and a carbide sharpener.

APA’s cam lock system is another very user-friendly feature, allowing the shooter to make adjustments or replace strings or cables in the field without tools.

And

It’s compact at 30 inches and produces an IBO speed of 330 fps despite the very tame brace height of 7 1/4 inches.

At its heart is the Venom V2 cam, offering 8 full inches of draw length adjustment in half-inch increments

The new compound bows are nice but for old die-hard finger shooters like me, the dang things are too short. Finger pinching brutes. I like a compound bow with axel to axel length of 48" or so.

I'm pretty much of the same mind. My Matthews Q1 (I think it's a Q1, might be a Q something else), has only one pin for a sight and I am also a finger shooter. The Matthews has a relatively 'nice' axle to axle to length but I have still dropped to using a two-finger hold.

In all truth, I doubt I'll buy another compound bow in my life. I might buy or make a NICE long bow, but even that is not high on the list of priorities of "things I need before I die".
