I would guess as it is fall down under hunting season must be about to start?

Hunting season is all year round here for all introduced species e.g. rabbits, foxes, goats, all deer breeds (except hog deer), wild pigs/boars and no bag limits. Hog deer are the only deer that have bag limits of two (male & a female) and can only be hunted in Victoria in April. Tasmania has fallow deer and they can only hunt in the month of April.

So yes we are in hunting season all year round. But the way the antis are going we are going to have to hunt with bows in the future.

What are the sheep farmer doing about predators? Are they restricted about which guns they can use? Is the government funding livestock losses to them?

Depending on the level of stock and size of their land farmers can apply for a Category c or d licence depending on the state to have a semi automatic 22lr rifle or 223 rifle. This varies from state to state.

They can also use their regular bolt, lever or pump action centerfires.

Oh, the leniency! I bet folks are flocking to these Republican states to take up farming as an occupation. ;)
