Alaskan Rainbows

This shot was taken on Naknek Lake (sw/ak) Luke had no problem claiming catch of the day with this rainbow....

Great pic and even greater Rainbow.  Reckon it'll be Rainbow, onions & potatos with a pot of coffee tonight!

What are we talkin' about with regards to tackle?

Thanks for the kind words Jay,
Fly fishing for bow's during the early season calls for a host of patterns, nymphs, leeches, etc. As the season wears on and the salmon run begins we switch to mostly simple egg patterns. By the end of the salmon run we will use flesh flies and artic shrimp patterns. In the waters we are fishing there are abundant amounts of lake trout, artic char and of course salmon. We stock out freezers with these while slipping the rainbows back in the water so we might get the chance to catch them another day.
