I never knew he won both a bronze star and a silver star I found that out after I read his obituary in the paper. The other fellow that was in the unit I know his son told me that dad always said jack should have won the CMH. He was a really nice man that was kind and gentle polite and unless he told you you would never have known he was one of the ultimate warriors of ww2.
