Not the greatest pic ever,  but on the right track.  What we have here is an emerging insect breaking free of it's nymphal shuck.....ala strip of condom on a parachute fly tied on a grubber hook.

Improvements that could be made???

1)  condom tail - twist it,  then pull some back and tie it off on the hook.  Will twist around itself,  not giving a sharp contrasting end,  and also giving a ribbed insect type look.

2)  the ribbing to half way up the body - don't have a layer of ostrich herl underneath.  Gives more definition between nymphal shuck and emerging insect that way.

3)  legs - yes,  there is a wrap or two of hackle there to look like legs.  Maybe I need more so you can actually tell!!!

Any other thoughts are welcome.  I have no problem with criticism,  provided I can work with it!!!  Just remember to try and look at it as a fish.
Normality is for the weak.
