This Alinsky sounds more like someone who subscribes to a chaos theory rather than either capitalism or socialism. In a socialists world everyone is equal, except for the leadership of course! Capitalism you at least have the chance to better yourself and be the leader no matter where you start. Alinsky's ideas seem more the ravings of a dissident in a third world country rather than someone who lives where he or she can exercise their own free will.
I think it will be tough for Obama to infringe more on peoples rights and privledges any more than W has already done with creating the patriot act and the powers given to the dept of homeland secturity. There is still the opposition, and unless the leadership starts killing them off, they still do have a voice and a vote.
W did do one thing, he gave his fear to the american public and by doing so was able to create the patriot act. If Obama continues it, and escalates it, then even more rights and freedoms will be "given" away in the name of "safety and freedom".

THE NEED FOR SPEED / Re: 69 Mustang in my future
February 12, 2009, 12:01:19 AM
**** that's sweet! :D  Love the sound of that engine!
I'm a Chevy fan, but there is only one Ford that I will drop all that for....a 'Stang. My dad had a '68 Fastback with a 351 Windsor in it. All stock back in the day and could kick everyone's butt drag racing. So I hear anyway. LOL!
Keep it up! Those beauties need to be kept alive, and for future reference, try Inimatator (yes, just like Big E!)polish. Works better, faster, and easier! than Mothers. After enough tanks, heat shields, rims, and stacks, I won't use much else. :undecided:

Take care and have fun with them all,
Bob

I personally don't think the gap would widen all that drastically if "urban" people had the chance to pick up a firearm, all be it a handgun or rifle, just for personal enjoyment.
Who sez any of us NEED to get out and hunt? I do it cuz I have yet to find someone farming moose lately, for one, and have yet to find anyone that probably would! I honestly get close to much enjoyment out of killing paper at the range, dropping clay pigeons instead of real, and cleaning, caring for(see Parker Hale posts ), and maintaining my guns.
The problem is that too many "urbanites" see a firearm as a weapon of violence rather than something that is a part of a recreational outting. Am talking target shooting here! Anyone thats dressed, quartered, and hauled a bull moose outta the bush knows that ain't the fun part! :D
If we can get these people to actually view firearms differently, we are that much closer to keeping what freedoms we have, will have, and might have in the future. Give a "tree hugger" a 1911 and a target and ask them to unload a couple mags into it. Guarantee you that they will ask you for a couple more and have a smile on thier face doing it.

Parker Hale/BSA Rifles / Re: My Winter Project
February 11, 2009, 11:04:36 PM
No ideas on the spacer, but mines white so I guess I'm good. :antlers: The pad that was on it was defintely to old. Crumbled when you ground it between your fingers and can only imagine what it woulda felt like had I pulled the trigger with it against my arm. Ouch! would probably been the last four letter word!
I thank you Rick for the compliments, but can say that yours looks awesome! :2thumbsup: We both get to look forward to what they'll do at the range and field to justify thier good looks.

:D Thank you gentlemen! Had lotsa practice just before christmas with finishing and it helped with the prep.
Know finding an original recoil pad is, and would be, an impossibility(unless I get lucky on Ebay....lol) so I picked up a Limbsaver grind to fit pad that just has to be taken down on the sides. It fits nice on the top and bottom of the butt though. It's just a little thicker than what would be an original pad, but I have long arms. LOL

Parker Hale/BSA Rifles / My Winter Project
February 08, 2009, 11:19:27 PM
Hello All !! :cheesy:
Just thought I'd show off my little winter project that I've been working on for the past few weeks, off and on.
I inherited my 1200 Parker from my dad and she was in need of some TLC and sandpaper. All I need to do now is grind down a new recoil pad and she"ll be ready for the range when the snow melts.

HUNTER'S GEAR REVIEW / Re: Birchwood Casey
December 24, 2008, 09:08:11 PM
Thank ya Paul, but the "fun" of getting firearm parts across the border and back is a headache and a half. You would think I was trying to ship explosives rather than a barrel and action with all the paperwork that's involved. :stars:
Might have to put a word out and see what's around here.
Thank you though. :2thumbsup:

Quote from: LvrLover;87178Bob, the thing is, you DO have the same right to bear arms and protect yourself and family. That is a God given right that no government can take away. If they try to do so, no matter what the means, they are no longer a legitimate government. quote]
Yes I do have the right to protect myself and family, I also have the right to protest my incarceration afterward :(. A person who illegally enters a home is still afforded the same rights as the homeowner. If they hurt themselves getting in, I could be sued for damages :stare:. I threaten them and I can end up getting charged for aggravated assault!! It's happened before (not to me btw :)).
People who are usually anti-gun have typically never fired one and are scared of them. There were a number of people who were anti-gun and changed thier minds after being asked to try. Typically they try one out and find that it is a lot of fun and enjoyable to shoot, whether it's target shooting or hunting. Another useless idea they have is that we as a people do not need to hunt any longer to sustain ourselves and that is typically correct. I seem to have a hard time finding a livestock farm that has moose, deer, or bear though. .

Am sorry for all of us. I feel that Canada is the modeling block for the new legislation that is usually imposed upon everyone south of the border. We seem to be the next stepping stone for BS legislation that we have no rights to fight for and be imposed upon people who do.
I wish I had the right to bear arms. I wish I had the right to protect my personal property and life. I don't!! If I draw my handgun, rifle, sword, or anything to protect myself or my family from an intruder, and god forbid, kill them, I WILL!! be  convicted of second degree murder. Even protecting my kids, my wife, or myself.
I've always hoped that US gun owners and the NRA would keep the amendements and freedoms that exist there. If you follow the path that Canada has followed, you won't have the rights as gun owners you have enjoyed for so many years. I know. Most tmes I feel like I am a criminal because I own firearms. Thats what you can expect.:undecided:
All I can say is support the NRA and be as vocal in keeping the rights you have, just as the people who have no understanding and want to criminalize gun ownership will be, and are.
Only by being a single and united voice will you be heard above those that are blinded by the loss of a feedom.

FIREARMS & OPTICS / Re: Ruger or Beretta??
December 06, 2008, 09:20:37 AM
:) , hadn't heard of CZ before so wasn't to sure of the company. Was pretty much decided on the Beretta, but reading the website and the info on the 75, and the thoughts of you gentlemen, it's sounding more and more like I will be seriously looking at the CZ. They do sound, and look, like nice handguns but not recognizing the name didn't help me out too much. Have heard of H&K, Beretta, Glock, Sig, Colt, S&W, etc., but never CZ.:o
Next weekend is the gun show here in town, and will probably make a decision there after I am able to pick them all up and play with them a bit. :COOLdude:
