RELOADING / Re: Reloading- can be a process!
April 20, 2012, 09:03:54 PM
We've had good luck with the 110 AB's on whitetails for the 25-06's that  we've  loaded  for.  Never loaded for an encore though.  For bolts,  I've had my best luck starting  at .025" off and working down.  Looks like you are making some good progress though.   Testing is the most fun of reloading.  Good luck to ya.

Sounds like you are in need of a RCBS Stuck Case Remover.  Never had to use one, but by all reports they work well.  Good luck.

Really enjoy my old Savage-stevens 20ga. SXS for grouse and pheasants.

I hear ya on the Ruger trigger pull.  I wound up taking mine to a gunsmith who was able to reduce the trigger pull from 10 lbs. to 3 lbs. which I favor for hunting purposes.  Another alternative is to buy an adjustable trigger and have it installed or if you are so inclined, you could do it yourself.
I also free floated the barrel on mine which helped the accuracy alot.  Good luck with yours.  Great rifles when you get the little things sorted out.--KT

Sure sounds like you had a fun time.  Have made it out here about 10 times so far shooting PD's.  Getting alittle low on .223's myself.   Looks like some more reloading is in order.  Ya better gear up for those PD's.--KT

You got to love SxS's for uplands.  I have several friends who have bought and use the new Charles Daly's and they really like them.  I still use my old Savage/Stevens 311A.  They are great if you can find one.  I find the double triggers to be alot more useful than the single selective.  Good luck in your search.--KT:)

HUNTING WITH DOGS / Puppy Dog
April 18, 2007, 09:06:28 AM
Just picked up my new Lab puppy a few days ago.  Got her in Spokane, Wa.  She's alittle bit in trouble now and again, but by this fall she will be my new pheasant hunting buddy.  My old lab's not quite sure yet whats going on, but he'll come around.  Her name's Dakota.  KT

One of my favorites for big game is spot and stalk.  But do enjoy a good stump to sit on and watch for awhile when available.--KT
