Steyr Prohunter

Have anyone use a steyr prohunter for varmint shooting.  I'm currently looking into purchasing a prohunter in 25-06 or 243 to use as a varmint/deer rifle.  
 
I was wondering if the steyr barrel is as durable as heavy varmint barrels and if they can take continous shots without overheating.
 
I have a Prohunter in 7mm mag but I don't think I can shoot too much through it all at once.
