A SECRET OF TRIUMPHANT LIVING THAT WILL WORK FOR YOU
God disappeared from sight in Jesus' body that He might appear again, in power, in the bodies of all true believers.
From the dawn of redemption God's purpose was to come live inside you. He first created man in His own image. He made him capable of love and fellowship with Himself. He placed him in a paradise, the Garden of Eden. And God occupied His time walking with man in that garden. But then the wicked mistrust and rebellion of man, called sin, severed the relationship. A holy God could not compromise His fellowship with unholy man. Man and God were separated.
But God does not give up. Jesus went to the cross and died for sin. Through His atonement, unholy man can be made clean. The fellowship that was broken in Eden is restored at Calvary. God and man are reunited. Christ comes to live in our hearts. This is the mystery of the entire universe. And this is the purpose of man, to know God and to be united with God.
Jesus Christ came to earth to bring man a wonderful new dimension of living. He said, I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
This new abundant dimension comes through having Jesus Christ live inside you. Jesus said in John 14:15, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter ... whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you ... At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you ... . If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:16, 18, 20, 23).
Jesus said He would not leave us, He would come to us, and He would be in us. This is the amazing mystery of the life of Jesus Christ. It did not end at a grave and it was not contained within one body. By His spirit He has come to live in all that will receive Him.
Before the day of Pentecost one body had contained Jesus Christ. After the day of Pentecost all bodies can contain Jesus Christ. God disappeared from sight in Jesus' body that He might appear again throughout the world in the bodies of thousands of true believers.
In the last book of the Bible, Jesus Christ wrote letters to the seven churches in Asia. When He wrote the last letter to the last church, He closed it with a promise of living inside our bodies. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelations 3:20). Jesus wanted to make it so clear no one could possibly miss it. He said we are like a house: someone knocks; you open the door. They come in. And that's the way it is with life. Jesus knocks on the door of our heart. We open. And God comes in to live within us.
