Title: Ballistic Gelatin Tests
Post by: gitano on September 27, 2010, 07:22:09 AM
This http://www.brassfetcher.com/airgun1.html is an interesting site. Note the results and comments regarding the .22 Cal pellets.

Good find Paul.   It would be interesting to see how much penetration there would be at say 50 ft.  I`m quite sure the .22`s  penetration would be very impressive compared to the .17s...... even at the  slower velocity.   Since going to the .22s I`d never go back to the .17s unless I was target shooting.

I just want to remind everyone that the penetrations seen in the attached link were AFTER going through two sheets of 1/2" sheetrock separated by a 3 1/2" gap. As the author says: ALL .22s perforated BOTH sheets at ALL ranges less than 25 yds. That impresses me.

As they advertise...........       these are ADULT air guns.

I`d really like to fire my .22 at a flat trajectory and see how far it will travel before it hits the ground..........   and just how fast it was going when it landed.
