We have what we call a "wood hen" not sure why I call a male woodpecker a "hen" but we do.

Much bigger woodpecker than yours and they "Yell"

Nice colorful bird Paul.  Hope he hangs around for you.

Well a great ride indeed!! Not much traffic and all was safe and sound.

Got over there past Loretta's and the prices on those buggies was HIGH!! How's a fellar posed to afford one of em and then buy a horse?  Those guys raise Morgans.  Nice looking horses.  I guarantee time you buy the buggy and horse you might as well buy a hybrid car.

Anyway, I feel like I did my part to boost the economy..maybe a little.

I just checked Purina horse feed.  $15/50lb would go a lot further feeding one horse than gas at $4/gal.

Wonder how many miles per pound of horse feed would get ya.

Buckshot might be on to somethin' .

Maybe we should go for horse and buggy.  Low maintaince, no gas just feed.

Down past Loretta's is a little community called Loboville.  They train the horses and make the wagons/buggies.

Two humps? An't  they called somethin' sides a camel?

I'd been saving to trade cars.  Only trouble is I like my car.  Gets good gas mileage/low maintance in spite of cost of gas but has to have premium.  And I'm fond of my truck.

I found myself dreading to stop at the gas station.  And got ta thinkin' there has to be an alternative.

Then we was in Nashvegas over the weekend and heard conversation bout a cycle.

First thing Monday morning I find myself at the "cycle store".

The rest is history!! LOL!!

I gets to pick her up at 9am tomorrow!!

I had gotten rid of my bikes several years ago too.

Heck maybe I'm having a mid life crisis!!

Sears used to carry a great gun box.  Strong metal box, upright, looked a lot like an old safe you see in the cowboy movies.  It locked with a key.  Everything else was decoration.  Black, gold trim.  Can't remember what was written on the box door.

Very unique.

A friend had one and I had to have one too.  Bought it then ended up many years later giving it to my eldest grandson.  He HAD to have it!!

I'll see if I can come up with one on line.

Wild I'm a University graduate and have no complaints against Universities.

Don't assume just because I live in Tennessee I'm uneducated.

Surveys are spam in emails, phone calls, etc.

I agree with Jay. I don't fill them out, I don't take the calls.

I know enough about University surveys to know you should have been given a list of people you could survey within your specialty.

  yes I did.  Hook, line and sinker.

Better watch out Grey I could be "tooling" your way...LOL!!

It's not quite a "Gold Wing" ..they are $23,000 ( one of those have to sell the farm things)

But it has all the gadgets and gizmos.

The amazing thing is it's been years and years since I've driven a motorcycle. I jumped on this one yesterday and it was like driving a car.

Oh I got it in the silver!!

As long as a scooter is 50cc no test just a drivers license.   But it can't be taken out on the main roads.  Only the back roads.

It was a decision we had to make.  What use is a cycle you can't drive out on a main road?  So we opted for a fun machine.

Bigger than that you have to take the test..this one is a 650cc.

Price is right!!!

I can take this one on the interstates.  I can travel 200miles a day in our outlaying areas on main 4 lane roads, without having to buy premium gas for my car.  Gets better gas mileage than the car or truck.

We can jump on it and go out to eat.  Only thing we might have a problem with is groceries but we have a car and truck for those things.

We're already planning a weekend getaway into Ky..

Yippy I passed the written test. (idiot test)

Now sometime after tomorrow I have to go ride circles around a parking lot down town..

I'll get my "drive out"  tag tomorrow when I pick up the bike.  Insurance company is ready..Geico.

And in case your wondering how I passed a drivers exam after so many years...I spent the night in a Holiday Inn Express!!

Wildfire.  To me anything that requires a Survey is the same as Spam. ( Take the PEPSI survey for instance) You would be better served here to post pictures of your experiences in hunting in other countries.

And telling about your experiences in Africa.

There are survey's going on in the forum at this moment in time re: the weather, what we'r doing with our rebate checks, whose using what reloads, bows, rifles, hand guns.

I'm not the suspicious sort but why  go to another site to take a survey when the survey can be done on site by questions and posting of articles and pictures.

You see where I'm going with my suggestions?
