Some of you former law enforcement types have probably witnessed this.......or would like too.

Texas Deputy vs New York Lawyer

Only in Texas my friends.... Only in Texas ..... Too bad......

A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a sheriff's deputy.

He thinks that he is smarter than the deputy because he is a lawyer from New  York and is certain that he has a better education then any cop from Houston, Texas.

He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the Texas deputy's expense.!!

Deputy says," License and registration, please."

Lawyer says, "What for?"

Deputy says, " You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign."

Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming."

Deputy says, "You still didn't come to a complete stop. License and registration, please."

Lawyer says, "What's the difference?"

Deputy says, "The difference is, you have to come to complete stop, that's the law. License and registration, please!"

Lawyer says, "If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I'll give you my license and registration; and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket."

Deputy says, "Sounds fair.    Exit your vehicle, sir."

At this point, the deputy takes out his nightstick and starts beating the ever-loving crud out of the lawyer and says,

"Do you want me to stop, or just slow down?"!!!!

Heard it before Alboy but it always makes me chuckle.

Guess I've come to feel that way about lawyers ever since I found out that they were not interested in justice.

Yeah, I've heard it too, and I too find it amusing. Less so than I used to though.

There are a lot of scummy lawyers 'out there', and as a group, they do some pretty scummy things. However, it is my most heart-felt belief that if it weren't for 'lawyers', there'd only be two classes of people.... 1) Friends of cops and 2) The rest of us in jail.

Let me put it differently... Given a choice between having a cop or a lawyer live next door, I'd take the lawyer - always. Given a choice of husbands for my daughters, I'd take a lawyer over a cop - always. Between bad cops and bad lawyers, it's a tough call. Bad cops kill you, bad lawyers steal your life.

Oh sure... like they're gonna let you shoot out your back door like you do now.

Yeah, sure... this I'd like to see.  The odds are he will have long hair, a guitar and be ridin' a motorcycle.  (Come to think on it... you might just need a lawyer).

Hopefully there is no lawyers on this forum.
